Telemarketing Scam Operators Fined $6.6 Million and Banned for Life

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has obtained a $6.6 million judgment against Kole Consulting Group, the owner of America Vehicle Protection (AVP), a company that scammed consumers by selling deceptive "bumper-to-bumper" coverage. The judgment includes a lifetime ban on AVP from extended automobile warranty marketing and outbound telemarketing. While the judgment has been partially suspended due to the defendant's inability to pay, the owner will have to surrender $500,000, and any lies about their financial situation could result in the full judgment being enforced.
