China Restricts Drone Exports Amid Escalating US Tech Disputes
China has imposed export controls on drones and drone-related equipment, citing the need to safeguard national security and interests amid escalating tensions with the United States. The restrictions, which will take effect on September 1, will apply to certain drone engines, lasers, communication equipment, anti-drone systems, and consumer drones. China, a major drone manufacturer, aims to demonstrate its responsibility as a major country and maintain global security initiatives. The move follows previous export controls on metals used in chipmaking and comes amidst Washington's efforts to restrict China's access to key technologies.
