4.5 Billion-Year-Old Meteorite Crashes into New Jersey Home in Excellent Condition
A meteorite that crashed through the roof of a house in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, has been confirmed to be a rare stony chondrite, about 4.6 billion years old, by scientists at The College of New Jersey. The 2.2-pound meteorite, which will likely be named Titusville, NJ, is in excellent condition and is one of a very small number of similar witnessed chondrite falls known to science.
