Gordon Murray admits it was "stupid" to offer a six-speed paddle-shifting transmission on the T.33 coupe, as only "three or four" people ordered it. The option was intended to broaden the car's appeal, but it would have ended up being the world's most expensive option. Murray explains that two of the people who ordered it did so out of necessity, due to problems with their clutch leg. The T.33 Spider will only be offered with a six-speed manual transmission.

Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled the T.33 Spider, a new convertible supercar featuring a naturally aspirated V12 engine that produces 607 horsepower and 333 pound-feet of torque. The car has two removable roof panels made from lightweight carbon composite, which can be stowed in the front luggage compartment when not in use. The T.33 Spider also features GMA's Passive Boundary Layer Control system, which increases downforce without increasing drag. It is built around Murray’s iStream Superlight technology and has a targeted dry weight of 2443 pounds. The T.33 Spider is powered by a 4.0-liter V-12 engine that produces 607 hp at 10,500 rpm and goes on to an 11,100 rpm. The T.33 Spider is priced at £1.89 million before taxes ($2.36 million at today's exchange rate) and half of the Spiders are already spoken for.
