Gordon Murray has unveiled two bespoke supercars, the Le Mans GTR and S1 LM, built for track performance and inspired by classic racing and Murray's McLaren F1 LM, with limited production and highly customizable features.
Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled the S1 LM, a limited-edition, track-focused car inspired by the classic F1 GTR, with only five units planned for production, featuring a 4.3-liter V-12 engine and set to be delivered in 2026.
Gordon Murray admits it was "stupid" to offer a six-speed paddle-shifting transmission on the T.33 coupe, as only "three or four" people ordered it. The option was intended to broaden the car's appeal, but it would have ended up being the world's most expensive option. Murray explains that two of the people who ordered it did so out of necessity, due to problems with their clutch leg. The T.33 Spider will only be offered with a six-speed manual transmission.
Gordon Murray Automotive has dropped the optional automatic transmission from its upcoming V-12-powered T.33 supercar due to weak interest, with only three or four people wanting it. The lack of demand made it near impossible to justify the transmission's development considering the planned production run of 200 cars.
Gordon Murray Automotive has unveiled the T.33 Spider, the convertible version of its T.33 supercar. The T.33 Spider has two removable carbon-fiber roof panels that can be stowed in the front trunk, and two lockable luggage compartments on either side of the engine. It is built around Murray’s iStream Superlight technology and has a targeted dry weight of 2443 pounds. The T.33 Spider is powered by a 4.0-liter V-12 engine that produces 607 hp at 10,500 rpm and goes on to an 11,100 rpm. The T.33 Spider is priced at £1.89 million before taxes ($2.36 million at today's exchange rate) and half of the Spiders are already spoken for.
Gordon Murray Automotive has teased the release of the T.33 Spider, a convertible version of its V12-powered T.33 supercar. The Spider will feature a snorkel air intake behind the driver's head and an active wing at the rear, but will retain the car's minimalist lines and two-seat layout. Despite the added weight of the convertible top, the Spider will weigh just 40 pounds more than the coupe. No details on price or availability have been released yet, but the full reveal will take place on April 4th.
