"Naming Australia's Moon Rover: Competition Launched for Artemis Mission"

Australia plans to send its first moon rover on one of NASA's Artemis missions as early as 2026. The rover will collect lunar soil, known as regolith, which NASA will attempt to extract oxygen from, a crucial step towards establishing a sustainable human presence on the moon. The Australian Space Agency has launched a competition to name the rover, with the winner to be announced in early December. NASA's Artemis program aims to establish a permanent human presence on and around the moon by the end of the 2020s, paving the way for future crewed missions to Mars.
