China's Solar Telescope Array: A Glimpse into the Sun's Secrets
China has begun trial operations with the world's largest solar telescope array, the Daocheng Solar Radio Telescope (DSRT). Consisting of 313 dishes, the array is capable of monitoring solar activity with high precision. Situated in southwest China, its main task is to continuously monitor the sun, observe solar flares and coronal mass ejections, and aid research into monitoring and early warning methods for pulsars, fast radio bursts, and asteroids. Developed by the National Space Science Center, DSRT is part of the Meridian Project on space weather monitoring.
