Moscow rail hub blast attributed to suicide attack, officer dead
An early-morning suicide bombing outside Moscow's Savyolovsky Station killed a traffic police officer and injured two others. The 22-year-old attacker from the Udmurt Republic died at the scene after the blast; authorities say he traveled from St. Petersburg to Moscow, and motive is not yet known. Putin suggested online recruitment for the attack and possible remote detonation, while investigators opened a criminal case and probe for accomplices.
