Wildfires Ravage North Jersey, Prompting Emergency Response
A brush fire in West Milford, New Jersey, dubbed the "Kanouse Wildfire," has grown to 250 acres in size, threatening nearly a dozen homes or other structures. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is working to build fire lines to contain the fire and prevent further spread. Northbound Route 23 remained closed between Germantown Road and Union Valley Road. All horses have been evacuated from Echo Lake Stables, and residents are advised to keep their windows closed to avoid smoke.
