FDA Warns Large Retailers About Recalled Stone Fruit
The US Food and Drug Administration has warned that peaches, plums, and nectarines that have been recalled due to contamination concerns were distributed to major retailers across the country, including Publix, Walmart, Aldi, and others. The stone fruit has been linked to a Listeria outbreak, causing illnesses, hospitalizations, and one death. Consumers are advised to discard any frozen peaches, plums, or nectarines that may be part of the recall, while fresh whole fruits currently on store shelves are not affected. The FDA and the CDC are also investigating a salmonella outbreak linked to recalled cantaloupe products.
