"California Proposes Mandating Speed Limiting Technology in New Cars"
California Sen. Scott Wiener has introduced SB 961, a bill that would require certain vehicles in the state to be equipped with speed limiter technology, limiting the vehicle's speed to prevent drivers from exceeding the speed limit by more than 10 miles per hour. The bill also includes measures for large trucks to be equipped with side guards and aims to reduce traffic fatalities and injuries statewide as part of the SAFER California Streets legislation package.
