"Hubble Captures Stunning 'Cosmic Tadpole' Amidst a Crimson Expanse"
NASA's Hubble Space Telescope captured a stunning image of the Soul Nebula, a red emission nebula located 7,000 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia. Within the nebula, a dark tadpole-shaped object known as an evaporating gaseous globule (EGG) was observed. Unlike other EGGs, this detached "frEGG" has a distinct head-tail shape and acts as a cocoon for baby stars to form. The image was published to coincide with the fall foliage season in the Northern Hemisphere.
