Charges Dropped in Antarctic Teen Pilot Case
Charges against 19-year-old American teen pilot Ethan Guo, who was detained in Antarctica after landing on a Chilean-claimed island during his solo flight to all seven continents to raise money for cancer research, have been dropped. He was ordered to leave the area, donate to a children's cancer foundation, and is banned from re-entering Chile for three years. Guo, who has spent over 140 days flying to raise $1 million for cancer research, remains in Antarctica awaiting permission to depart.
