FBI arrests 2 for running secret Chinese police outpost in NYC
Two Chinese-Americans have been arrested for allegedly operating a secret Chinese police station in New York City to influence and intimidate dissidents critical of the Chinese government in the U.S. The FBI charged the defendants with conspiring to act as agents of the Chinese government and obstruction of justice. In a separate complaint, nearly three dozen MPS officers were charged with using fake social media accounts to intimidate Chinese dissidents in the U.S. and disseminate "official PRC government propaganda and narratives to counter the pro-democracy speech of the Chinese dissidents."
