Netherlands Cracks Down on Suspected Russia Sanctions Violations
Three individuals have been arrested in the Netherlands for allegedly participating in an international smuggling network that circumvented EU sanctions against Russia by illegally exporting technological and laboratory equipment with potential military applications. The investigation, initiated in late 2023, uncovered a web of enterprises centred around a Dutch-registered trading company. The suspects are accused of violating the export ban, and one individual was also detained for allegedly supplying microchips to Russia in violation of sanctions.
