Rolls-Royce Secures $13B Contract for Nuke-Proof 'Doomsday' Plane
Rolls-Royce, in collaboration with Sierra Nevada Corporation, has secured a $13 billion contract from the US Air Force to develop a new generation of 'Doomsday planes' as part of the Survivable Airborne Operations Center project. These planes, designed to replace the current E-4B models, will serve as mobile command centers capable of surviving nuclear blasts and refueling mid-air, ensuring the safety of key government and military leaders during national emergencies.
