Haifa student uncovers Crusader sword buried off Israel’s coast
A Haifa University student discovered a roughly one-meter-long, 12th-century Crusader sword buried off Dor Beach. After notifying the Israel Antiquities Authority, the artifact was conserved and CT-scanned at Elisha Medical Center, revealing a European-made, one-handed blade with a crack and limited surviving iron, a rare glimpse into Crusader presence along Israel’s northern coast.
