Temporary Court Ruling Allows 2nd-Time Transfers to Play in NCAA
A federal judge in West Virginia has issued a 14-day temporary restraining order against the NCAA, allowing college athletes who have transferred a second time to play immediately at their new schools. The judge's ruling comes after West Virginia and six other states sued the NCAA, arguing that the rule requiring a waiver for second-time transfers violated the Sherman Anti-trust Act. The NCAA has stated that it will not challenge the ruling, meaning any second-time undergraduate transfer who was previously forced to sit out will now be able to play immediately.
