Massive Storm Causes Widespread Power Outages and Devastation Along East Coast
South Shore communities in Massachusetts, particularly Scituate, faced significant power outages after a storm hit the region. Nearly all of Scituate and a significant portion of Norwell and Duxbury were without power. Restoration efforts were expected to take up to 72 hours, and residents were advised to avoid road travel to facilitate cleanup efforts. Schools in Scituate were closed, but the Scituate Town Library, Senior Center, and Town Hall remained open as warming and device-charging facilities. The storm caused damage, transit delays, and power outages throughout the region.
