Julio Rodarte, 39, was arrested on suspicion of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder. The incident, captured on surveillance video, occurred after Rodarte unsuccessfully tried to buy liquor. Evacuation orders lifted as Ramona Fire contained in Riverside County.

A brush fire that erupted just north of San Jacinto, California, threatened homes and agricultural operations and prompted evacuations for several hours. The fire grew to 328 acres and was 20% contained. Evacuation orders and warnings were issued but were lifted around 8:30 p.m. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

On-duty deputy involved in fatal and injury-causing crashes in Riverside and Weber Counties.

Riverside County Sheriff's Office deputy Brett Harris has died from injuries sustained in a crash with another vehicle while responding to a call for backup. The driver of the second vehicle suffered moderate injuries, and a second deputy was injured while trying to remove Harris from the wreckage. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
