On-duty deputy involved in fatal and injury-causing crashes in Riverside and Weber Counties.

Riverside County Sheriff's Office deputy Brett Harris has died from injuries sustained in a crash with another vehicle while responding to a call for backup. The driver of the second vehicle suffered moderate injuries, and a second deputy was injured while trying to remove Harris from the wreckage. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Harris was an organ donor, and arrangements are being made to honor his wishes. He is survived by his family and law enforcement colleagues. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
