Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Brett Harris has died after sustaining catastrophic injuries in an on-duty traffic accident in San Jacinto. Harris was responding to a call for service when the accident occurred. Another deputy and the driver of the other vehicle were also injured. Harris wished to donate his organs, and funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.

Riverside County Sheriff's Deputy Brett Harris has died from injuries sustained in a traffic collision. Deputy Harris, 26, suffered major injuries, including a catastrophic brain injury, in a crash on Friday, May 12 in San Jacinto. The crash is still under investigation. Deputy Harris was assigned to the Hemet's Sheriff's Station. He is survived his wife, mother and father, twin sister, and brother. Deputy Harris' organs will be donated, as per his wishes. Funeral arrangements will be announced when available.

Riverside County Sheriff's Office deputy Brett Harris has died from injuries sustained in a crash with another vehicle while responding to a call for backup. The driver of the second vehicle suffered moderate injuries, and a second deputy was injured while trying to remove Harris from the wreckage. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Harris was an organ donor, and arrangements are being made to honor his wishes. He is survived by his family and law enforcement colleagues. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
