Calcium Gate Leak Behind Statin-Related Muscle Pain, Study Finds

A new study links statin-associated muscle symptoms (SAMS) to calcium leaking into muscle cells via the RyR1 channel when statins bind to it, a finding observed in mice using cryo-EM. This mechanism explains why about 10% of statin users experience muscle pain and suggests two potential remedies: redesign statins to avoid RyR1 binding or use Rycal drugs to close the calcium gates and prevent muscle weakness.

"Ukraine's Drone Takes Down 5 Russian SAMs in Impressive Video"

A video on social media shows Ukraine using a single "Shark" drone with powerful optical zoom to scout and destroy five Russian surface-to-air missile systems (SAMs). The drone, provided by energy company Okko as part of a charity project, helped pinpoint the locations of the SAMs, which were then targeted by HIMARS strikes. The Shark drone, weighing 27 pounds and equipped with a 30x optical zoom, is capable of flying up to 50 miles and reaching speeds of 80 miles per hour.
