
Russia-Ukraine War: UN Report Confirms Hroza Massacre, Urges Investigation
On day 618 of the Russia-Ukraine war, two people were killed and the power supply was disrupted in Russian shelling of Ukraine's Kherson region. Ukrainian forces repelled a new Russian assault near Vuhledar, causing heavy losses for the Russians. Russia accused Ukraine of risking a nuclear disaster after shooting down nine Ukrainian drones near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station. Russia also jailed two more Ukrainian soldiers and withdrew its ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The United States imposed new sanctions on individuals and firms aiding Russia's invasion and plans to announce a $425m military aid package for Ukraine.
