Russia-Ukraine War: UN Report Confirms Hroza Massacre, Urges Investigation

On day 618 of the Russia-Ukraine war, two people were killed and the power supply was disrupted in Russian shelling of Ukraine's Kherson region. Ukrainian forces repelled a new Russian assault near Vuhledar, causing heavy losses for the Russians. Russia accused Ukraine of risking a nuclear disaster after shooting down nine Ukrainian drones near the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station. Russia also jailed two more Ukrainian soldiers and withdrew its ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty. The United States imposed new sanctions on individuals and firms aiding Russia's invasion and plans to announce a $425m military aid package for Ukraine.

Russian missile attacks in Ukraine leave civilians dead and spark panic.

Four civilians were killed by Russian shelling in Avdiivka, Donetsk region, while the body of a man killed during the occupation was exhumed in Bohorodychne. The exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown. Two missile strikes were recorded on Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy used an S-300 air defense system.
