Class I Upgrade: Romano Cheese Recall Expanded Over Listeria Risk
The FDA has upgraded a Romano cheese recall to Class I after Listeria contamination was detected in products from Ambriola Co., Inc., affecting more than 11,500 cases across multiple brands and package sizes that were distributed in several states from November 3–20. A Class I recall means there is a reasonable probability that use or exposure could cause serious health consequences or death. Consumers should discard the recalled cheese or return it for a refund; questions can be directed to Ambriola at 800-962-8224.
