Hazardous materials train derails and causes fire in rural Maine.
A Canadian Pacific Railway train derailed in the Rockwood area, causing a small forest fire. Three locomotives and six cars carrying lumber and electrical wiring derailed due to track washout caused by melting ice and debris. Three railroad employees were injured but not critically. Hazardous materials were on the train, but those cars did not derail. The area has been cordoned off, and hazardous materials experts are assessing the situation.
