"Preparing for the Total Solar Eclipse: Tips and Forecasts"
The Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport is preparing for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, with normal operations expected but special measures in place for the event. While no flights are scheduled to be in the air during totality, airport staff will manually turn on lights and coordinate with air traffic control. It's unclear if the eclipse has led to an increase in travelers, but those flying out on the day are advised to arrive early and bring eclipse glasses to watch from the airport's parking garage or lots.
