West Nile Virus Activity Surges in Sacramento's Hotspots
Two specific areas in Sacramento, South Natomas and South Sacramento, are experiencing a rise in West Nile virus activity in mosquitoes. Laboratory results have confirmed an increase in mosquito samples and dead birds testing positive for the virus in these neighborhoods. The extreme heat in recent days has contributed to the increase in mosquito populations. The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District is closely monitoring these areas and taking measures to control adult mosquito populations.
