Unveiling the Synchronized Brain Waves and Playful Neurons: Insights from Psychedelic Studies
Researchers at Lund University have developed a technique to simultaneously measure electrical signals from 128 brain regions in conscious rats. Using this method, they observed the effects of psychedelic drugs, LSD and ketamine, on the brain's neural oscillations. Despite their different modes of action, both drugs induced similar wave patterns across the brain, indicating synchronized neural behavior. This synchronized activity may offer insights into understanding consciousness and serve as a research model for studying psychoses.
