Repsol Makes $768 Million Move into U.S. Onshore Wind Market

Spanish energy company Repsol has entered the U.S. onshore wind market with the acquisition of renewable energy developer ConnectGen for $768 million. This move is part of Repsol's strategy to shift from oil and gas to renewables, with a focus on the United States. The acquisition of ConnectGen, which has 20 GW in planned onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects, will help Repsol achieve its goal of reaching 20 GW of installed renewables capacity by the end of the decade. This deal follows Repsol's recent acquisitions in the renewables sector, including Asterion Energies and a stake in U.S. renewables developer Hecate Energy.
