Federal Regulators Demand Starbucks Reopen Illegally Closed Stores
The National Labor Relations Board has ordered Starbucks to reopen 23 stores, including six in Los Angeles, after determining that the closures were illegal. The board found that the stores were closed due to union organizing, which violates federal law. At least seven of the identified stores had already unionized. Starbucks has been accused of illegally opposing workers' organizing during a two-year labor campaign. The company has been ordered to compensate workers for lost wages and other costs.
