Grounded vessel disrupts trade route in Suez Canal.
The Xin Hai Tong 23, a ship sailing under the Hong Kong flag, which was grounded in the Suez Canal, has been successfully refloated by the Suez Canal Authority. The canal, one of the busiest waterways in the world, was blocked for almost a week in 2019 after a giant container ship became stuck. The incident caused a backlog of hundreds of vessels trying to use the waterway, disrupting global trade.
