"Recall Effort Against Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos Falls Short"
Rightwing activists' attempt to recall Wisconsin's Republican assembly speaker Robin Vos seems to have failed as initial review by the elections commission found far fewer valid signatures than claimed. The recall campaign needed signatures totaling 25% of the vote cast during the last gubernatorial election, and it appears to have fallen short in both Vos's old and new districts. The commission has asked for clarification from the Wisconsin supreme court about which district applies in the recall campaign, but regardless of the court's directive, the recall effort seems to have fallen short. If the recall fails, the group pushing for Vos's ouster plans to launch a second attempt in his primary this August.
