Counterfeit Part Found in NASCAR Driver's Car.
NASCAR displayed the counterfeit part from Chase Briscoe's car, which led to a $250,000 fine and a six-race suspension for crew chief John Klausmeier. The part was found to be a counterfeit engine duct that did not correspond to what should have been in the car. The proper pieces are 3D printed at the R&D Center and Fiberworks Composites sells them and installs them for teams. NASCAR inspected the part and found that it did not fit the proper parameters. The penalties were severe, but they could have been worse based on the rulebook.
