Evangelical conservatives gathered at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority conference in Washington to hear from their flawed partner, Donald Trump, who is the dominant frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination. Ralph Reed, founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, is debating whether the deal with Trump was worth it and whether they should renew the contract. Evangelicals overwhelmingly backed Trump in the 2016 and 2020 elections, and he delivered more policy victories for them than any other president. The question now is what evangelicals will do in the 2024 Republican presidential primary.
