Future plans for the park include rock climbing, mountain biking, rope courses, access to the Alabama River for kayaking and paddleboarding, an on-site hotel, and retail stores.

Fire crews rescue rafters stuck on small island in American River
Eight people were rescued by Sacramento Metro Fire after their raft hit a snag in the American River and pushed them into a small island. All eight people needed assistance to get back to the Harrington access point in Rancho Cordova, but there were no injuries reported.
