'Boo Deng' Wins Big at NASA JPL Pumpkin Carving Contest
NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) in Pasadena, California, hosts an annual pumpkin carving contest where scientists and engineers showcase their creativity by transforming pumpkins into intricate artworks. This year's standout entry, "Boo Deng," a baby hippo pumpkin, was among various imaginative designs, including a floating teapot and a pumpkin cheeseburger. The event celebrates both Halloween and JPL's founding anniversary, allowing participants one hour to carve and decorate their pumpkins, with mechanical and electronic enhancements prepared in advance.
