Rocket League, the popular car soccer game, will disable item trading starting in Season 13, eliminating the vibrant market for buying and selling cosmetics. Developer Psyonix stated that this change aligns with Epic's approach to game cosmetics and item shop policies, potentially allowing for cross-game ownership of vehicles. The decision has sparked shock and frustration among fans, who have enjoyed trading items with friends and building valuable collections. Psyonix emphasized that players can still trade duplicate items back to Epic for a chance at a higher rarity cosmetic, but all current trades will be final after December 5. The move comes amidst recent layoffs at parent company Epic Games, and the Rocket League community has expressed disappointment with the decision.
