"Container Ship Loses Power Near Verrazzano Bridge, Comes to Halt"

A 1,145-foot-long container ship, APL Qingdao, lost propulsion in New York's harbour near the Verrazzano Bridge, reminiscent of a recent deadly incident in Baltimore. The ship was assisted by towing vessels and safely anchored outside the navigable channel. After repairs, it departed for Norfolk, Virginia. Unlike the Baltimore tragedy, where the Dali container ship lost power and collided with a bridge, causing fatalities, the APL Qingdao did not lose power, and no casualties were reported.

"Kelleys Island Ferry Malfunction Leaves 200 Passengers Stranded on Lake Erie"

The Goodtime I, a Kelleys Island ferry operating on Lake Erie, lost power and became stranded in rough waters with approximately 220 passengers on board. The U.S. Coast Guard responded, and a tow boat was used to bring the ferry back to its dock in Sandusky. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the propulsion failure is under investigation.
