Early Warning Signs of Multiple Sclerosis Identified Years Before Diagnosis: Study
A study has identified five prodromal symptoms that may occur in people with multiple sclerosis (MS) years before their diagnosis. These symptoms include depression, sexual dysfunction, constipation, inflammation of the bladder, and urinary tract infection. However, these symptoms are not exclusive to MS and can also be present in the prodromal phase of other autoimmune diseases like Crohn's disease and lupus. Recognizing these symptoms could aid in early MS diagnosis and treatment, but further research is needed to find specific markers for early detection.
