The National Weather Service confirmed that at least five tornadoes touched down in Ohio during the latest round of severe weather, including an EF-1 tornado in Portage County that generated winds of 110 mph, causing extensive damage. No injuries were reported, but there was significant property damage and power outages. This adds to the 38 tornadoes confirmed in Ohio in 2024, which leads the nation, with the worst being an EF-3 twister on March 14 in Logan County that resulted in three fatalities and more than 20 injuries.

A tornado touched down in Windham, Portage County, Ohio, causing damage to isolated homes and closing roadways. The high winds resulted in downed power lines, electric service outages, and roadside hazards. Two 18-wheelers toppled over on the Ohio Turnpike, causing eastbound lanes to be closed for several hours. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, and emergency crews assisted in the aftermath of the storm.
