Florida Juvenile Detention Sergeant Arrested for Inappropriate Correspondence with Teen Inmate
A Florida police sergeant, Katelyn Gomez, has been arrested and charged with solicitation of a child to engage in sexual activity after allegedly writing nearly a dozen inappropriate letters to a 16-year-old inmate at the Pinellas Regional Juvenile Detention Center. The letters described explicit details of a sexual encounter and an ongoing relationship, and a photo of Gomez was found in the boy's cell. Gomez admitted to writing the letters and developing a relationship with the inmate, despite being instructed not to be alone with him.
