Red Cross Urges Gamers to Follow Real-Life Rules of War in Virtual Worlds
The International Committee Of The Red Cross has launched the "Play By The Rules" initiative, which aims to raise awareness of the rules of war by encouraging players of first-person shooter games to respect real-world rules of war while they play. The Red Cross has issued guidelines for players to follow, including avoiding shooting at downed enemies, not targeting non-violent NPCs or civilian buildings, and sharing med kits with allies and enemies alike. Participating games include Fortnite and Arma 3, which previously raised money for the Red Cross with its Laws Of War DLC.
