"Dad's Stroke Survival Inspires Warning Signs Awareness"

Dan Kenny, a high school teacher, ignored the warning signs of a stroke at the age of 40, including fatigue, dizziness, and a lisp. He brushed off his symptoms and went on a hockey trip, where his condition worsened. Eventually, he sought medical help and was diagnosed with a stroke caused by a congenital heart condition called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). A PFO is a hole in the heart that allows blood clots to travel directly to the brain, causing a stroke. Kenny underwent a PFO closure procedure and has since recovered physically and mentally, urging others to pay attention to warning signs and seek medical help.
