Stunning Photos Capture Perseids Meteor Shower's Dazzling Display
The Perseid meteor shower, known as the "Tears of St. Lawrence," peaked last weekend, offering a spectacular display of shooting stars. The meteor shower occurs when Earth passes through a stream of dust left by comet 109P/Swift-Tuttle. The best viewing time was after midnight when the radiant constellation of Perseus was highest in the sky. The Perseids are best seen in the northern hemisphere and will peak again in August 2024.
