Kilauea Volcano Erupts, Locals Urged to Stay Indoors.

The Kilauea volcano on Hawaii's Big Island erupted on Wednesday morning, prompting warnings as experts continued to monitor the site. The alert level for Kilauea was raised to red for "warning," and locals are urged to stay indoors and wear masks outside to reduce exposure to volcanic gas. The eruption may cause "very light ashfall" in some districts of Hawaii Island, and some volcano smog, or "vog," has already been observed downwind of the volcano. The storied volcano has erupted several times over the years, including from Jan. 5 through March 7 this year, and intermittently from Sept. 2021 through March 2022.

"Pelé" officially defined as a synonym for excellence and uniqueness in Brazilian and Portuguese dictionaries.

A Portuguese-language dictionary, Michaelis, has added "Pelé" to its online edition, defining it as an adjective that can be used to describe "someone who is out of the ordinary, who or who by virtue of their quality, value or superiority cannot be equaled to anything or anyone." Since the player's death, a Brazilian charity established to further Pelé's legacy had been leading the campaign to get the term added to the dictionary. It's not the first time Pelé's legacy has changed the very language of his home country.

Pele officially added to dictionaries as a synonym for uniqueness.

Brazil legend Pele has been added to the Michaelis dictionary in Portugal as an adjective to describe someone 'out of the ordinary' after a campaign by fans to recognise the late forward's legacy. The word 'pele' is defined as 'exceptional, incomparable, unique', qualities associated with 'The King' of football. The campaign got 125,000 signatures to honour Pele's impact beyond football. The three-time World Cup winner died from colon cancer aged 82 in December.
