Unstable Scaffolding Forces Closure of Downtown Orlando Road

One of the busiest intersections in downtown Orlando remains closed due to the possibility of tons of unstable scaffolding collapsing. Streets including Orange Avenue, Church Street, and Pine Street are closed, causing inconvenience for pedestrians and negatively impacting local businesses. The scaffolding, located on the former Suntrust Center, is being worked on by Balfour Beatty Construction, but it is unclear when it will be taken down. The city of Orlando has designated certain areas for pedestrian access to help businesses, but the closure is expected to last through the weekend.
