Saudi Arabia Executes US Citizen Convicted of Patricide
Saudi Arabia has executed an American citizen, Bishoy Sharif Naji Naseef, who was convicted of killing his Egyptian father. Naseef beat and strangled his father, mutilated his body, and attempted to kill another person before his arrest. The method of execution was not specified, but Saudi Arabia typically beheads those sentenced to death. Saudi Arabia ranks among the top executioners globally, and in March 2022, it carried out the largest known mass execution in its modern history, with 81 people executed on the same day.
