Taiwan Erupts Over Controversial Pro-China Legislative Reforms
Taiwan's cabinet will reject and send back for review parliamentary reforms passed by the opposition, which have sparked large protests amid accusations of Chinese interference. The reforms, which include new powers for lawmakers and criminalizing contempt of parliament, are seen by the ruling Democratic Progressive Party as unconstitutional and an overreach of power.
