"Ford Recalls 870K F-150 Pickups in US Over Unexpected Parking Brake Activation"

Ford is recalling over 870,000 F-150 pickup trucks in the U.S. due to a potential issue with the electric parking brakes. The recall affects certain models from 2021 to 2023, and is caused by a rear wiring bundle coming into contact with the rear axle housing, which can lead to wire chafing and a short circuit. This can result in the parking brake turning on unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash. Ford has received warranty claims and field reports of wire chafing, but no crashes or injuries have been reported. Dealers will inspect and replace the rear wiring harness if necessary.

Tesla Semi recalled for faulty brakes and rollaway risk.

Tesla has issued a recall for 35 of its new electric Semi trucks due to a faulty parking brake that might not engage when applied by the driver. The issue, caused by a valve module that could leak air, could cause the truck to roll away if the driver parks the truck or takes their foot off the brake believing that the parking brake is activated. No crashes or injuries have been reported. Tesla has faced a number of other recalls, some of which could be fixed by a simple over-the-air software update but others that would require mechanical work at a service center.
